2nd Summer Heat Wave?
It's only been Summer for a little over a week and we're already talking about another possible heat wave. This one isn't set in stone like the first one was when temperatures were well into the 90s. Today we'll be in the lower 90s, but Saturday and Sunday we'll be right around 90°. Some towns will get a heat wave and some will fall just shy with highs in the upper 80s. Either way, as Jerry Reed says, "When you're hot, you're hot."
As the warm air moves in this morning we have a few spotty light showers to deal with. By 9-10am, a few t'storms are possible as well. Then we'll see sunshine and strong southwest winds. A few more isolated t'storms could pop up this evening as a cool front slides through.
Saturday is mostly sunny with highs near 90. A storm will pass to our south Saturday night into early Sunday morning, so the south coast might have some nighttime rain. But Sunday goes back to being sunny and hot. More showers will be scattered about on Monday, then it looks great for Tuesday and Wednesday. Which night are you having fireworks in your town? Doesn't matter because the weather will cooperate both nights.
Have a great weekend!

Not much of a chance today with highs reaching near 50 this morning, only to fall back into the low to mid 40s this afternoon as a cold rain settles in.

Rain, rain, rain...
...but for many today was a day of hurry up and wait. Sure there were showers, but not every minute was washed out. With the events unfolding tonight, that's about to change.

Come On Ride The Train

Heavy rain is on the move! All afternoon long it was stalled over Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Heavy pulses of rain traveled over the same towns and cities - a process meteorologists call "training" - resulting in flash flooding in some counties to our west.
