An old girlfriend/boyfriend? Perhaps but I was actually thinking those dang clouds out there-haha. We had them yesterday, then they left last night but had so much fun, they cam back today. Ugh. At least we didn't have any rain out of those clouds. The other noticeable thing about today was how comfortable it was outside. Refreshing. Much of the upcoming week will be free of any excess humidity and/or heat. Here's why:
That jet stream configuration can hammer us with cold & snow during the winter months (and likely will this upcoming winter--more on that later, much later). This time of year, a jet stream shape like that keeps the air quite comfortable. It does come with a pricetag though and that price is in the form of clouds. The next few days will offer varying amounts of clouds across the region and even the risk of a few showers on the Cape/Islands.
By late week, the warmth and humidity will creep back in small doses but also allow for more sunshine.
Last hurricane to make landfall? Bob--21 years ago today:
Tropics are quiet for now but will have to watch them closely---2 waves out there tonight---waaaay out by Africa---They make have a name by midweek. Stay tuned.

Rain, rain, rain...
...but for many today was a day of hurry up and wait. Sure there were showers, but not every minute was washed out. With the events unfolding tonight, that's about to change.

Come On Ride The Train

Heavy rain is on the move! All afternoon long it was stalled over Western Massachusetts and Connecticut. Heavy pulses of rain traveled over the same towns and cities - a process meteorologists call "training" - resulting in flash flooding in some counties to our west.
