Little Weather Systems

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

Enough of these *little weather systems*. They pass through, kick up some clouds & even a few isolated showers. The latest is leaving as I blog and there isn't one on its heels for Labor Day. Good.

Labor Day offers high pressure and that means sunshine for just about the entire day with only a few clouds late in the afternoon. What a way to close the books on summer--ideal for the beaches, golf courses, tennis courts and even the apple orchards (the apples have arrived about a week ahead of schedule thanks to that very warm spell back in March)!

Tuesday it's back to work, back to school and back to clouds & showers. This next weather system won't be little though. In fact, some of this Tuesday storm is leftover tropical moisture from Isaac. So ready the rain-gear for both Tuesday & Wednesday (have it ready to go anytime after 8am Tuesday)  as showers & tropical downpours are likely.  Many towns are likely to pick up an inch of rain, perhaps as much as 3" of rain in some locations by the time the storm departs late Wednesday afternoon. This system will also bring back the humidity.

Drier weather is set to return by Thursday & Friday.

Have a great week!

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Posted by Chris Lambert

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.

Strong Finish

An overall cooler day, but also a great end to the workweek as highs neared 70, low humidity continued and plenty of sunshine dominated the skies.  Now all we need is this to continue through the weekend right?

Still Good

Posted by Chris Lambert

How about yesterday?  The 82 in Boston matched the warmest temp we've had since September 13th.  Of course, with a wind gusting past 30mph and relative humidity near 18%, it certainly didn't feel oppressive.

Top 10?

Posted by Chris Lambert

Lower 80s, low humidity and sunshine... would you call it a top 10 kind of day?  Only complaint, other than it not being the weekend, is maybe the wind was a bit much?  It certainly was gusty, at times blowing 30-35mph.  No sea breeze will move inland with a strong west wind like that.
