Just dandy. What a weekend with mostly sunny skies both days. So sad to say goodbye to weekends like these. At least our pattern will remain for a little while longer.
Monday will offer more sunshine and pleasant temps once we get beyond 9am. The morning commute will feature chilly temps with many towns down into the low & mid 40s around 7am. Even Boston will see early morning temps into the low 50s. As we work through the morning those temps will skyrocket through the 50s & into the 60s and by afternoon many cities & towns reach the mid 70s! A sea breeze is likely so coastal cities & towns may briefly see the mid 70s but plan on temps near 70 for much of the afternoon.
As we roll into Tuesday, a rather large storm takes aim on the northeast. Clouds for sure and eventually some showers, especially by afternoon and into the evening. Some of that rain is likely to be heavy overnight Tuesday-early Wednesday with some towns picking up between 1-2" of rain. Wind will also be an issue, especially along the coast Tuesday night-Wednesday morning as gusts may exceed 30 mph for a few hours.
This storm will slowly move offshore by late-week and may keep clouds & the threat for showers along the coast into the start of next weekend.
Have a great week!

Summer officially starts Friday at 1:04 A.M., and Mother Nature's sending in summer weather for us just in time. Mid to late June averages highs near 80 degrees, and we'll be there temperature-wise over the next few days. Mostly dry too!

That's A Wrap--I Think

I hope I'm not jinxing us with this statement.."The recent wet pattern is over....onto sunshine & a more summer- like pattern.." The last time someone from 7 weather called a pattern change too soon we got a blizzard and 3 subsequent nor'easters (looking at you Pete!!--LOL). We don't have to worry about any blizzards or nor'easters but one never knows in the new world order.

If you were caught in those 'cloudbursts' today, you had more than you could handle in the rain department. Torrents fell in a short amount of time - what we deem 'flash flooding' in the weather biz. Since it happens suddenly, the National Weather Service has adopted the acronym TADD:

Bam. Pow! Those were some nasty storms last evening with some towns in metrowest & the city itself blasted with locally heavy rain, hail, lightning and strong wind gusts. A cool front is the culprit and that front will linger across the region again today. That means another round of some scattered showers & t-storms likely.
