Fall Into Place
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
Nice day to welcome fall back to New England with a bunch of sunshine & seasonably mild temps. More of the same for the first full day of fall after a little weather system will sneak through New England late tonight with more clouds & even a few showers for some of you. The showers will be few & far between and not pester anyone until midnight and into the overnight hours.
Sunday is similar to today where we will be greeted by clouds during the morning hours only to see that sunshine make a comeback (just don't call it one). I actually think that sunshine returns sooner tomorrow, likely by mid morning. That will allow temps to reach the low 70s by afternoon and the air will be drier too. Chilly air settles back into New England tomorrow night with lows back into the low 40s by early Monday morning. Monday itself stays chilly with afternoon highs only crawling into the low 60s--another sign of fall, slower recovery from chilly mornings.
Back to fall for a second. Earth is in balance tonight (meaning no tilting on that imaginary axis)....Legend states on the autumnal equinox you can balance an egg. Give it a shot! Have a great weekend!

Pulling The Fade

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds. As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening. Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers. These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70. Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.

An overall cooler day, but also a great end to the workweek as highs neared 70, low humidity continued and plenty of sunshine dominated the skies. Now all we need is this to continue through the weekend right?
