Let's Talk Turkey

Posted by Chris Lambert

It's a cold start this morning, in fact many of the suburbs are dealing with quite the thick frost to kick the day off.  With a lot of low level moisture in place, all it took was for temps to cool overnight for all that water vapor to turn to ice crystals and cover just about anything from the grass, to the mulch to your windshield.  Maybe even a few patches of black ice are out there on sidewalks and driveways, so watch your step early this morning!

Frost melts away quickly this morning as temps warm to near 50 this afternoon with partly sunny skies.  More low clouds may fill in through SE Mass with an onshore flow this afternoon, so we'll watch that potential.  Otherwise, we're still on cruise control this week with dry weather prevailing.

Not only is the weather quiet around here, but it's quiet around most of the country.  It'll be an active pattern the next couple of days across the Pacific Northwest, but for the Midwest, Southwest, the Rockies, all the way to the East coast, we're dry.

Thanksgiving Day forecast looks good.  We'll start the day off in the mid 30s, rise into the mid 40s for kickoff for all those High School football games, and end the day with mostly sunny skies and temps near 50.  Good luck to all the players out there, have fun, and eat lots of food after!

Saved by The Sea Breeze

Although my forecast was busted today, there was one good thing that came out of it.

Stability.

That gray overcast that hung over the eastern half of the Commonwealth provided a stablizing influence to our atmosphere. The cool air blowing in from the ocean kept the temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s all the way back to Metrowest. While that makes for lousy short-and-t-shirt weather, it is poison to thunderstorms.

Wild & Wacky

Wild temperatures yesterday---from the 80s down into the low 60s in just an hour AND some heavy duty thunderstorms. The reason was a cool front that dropped in from Maine. That front is in western New England this morning and it's a chameleon as it will become a warm front and try to warm things back up during the day.

More Warmth

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

You have another warm & humid day with many towns repeating yesterday's weather. That means we start with clouds & fog for a bit before hazy sun gets going. That hazy sunshine will boost temps up into the low 80s by early to mid afternoon across much of the region. At the same time a cool front will begin dropping out of Maine (backdoor front) which will quickly send temps from the 70s/80s down into the 50s/60s by late afternoon & evening. Also, when this front rams into the warmth & humidity it will spark a few showers & thunderstorms during the afternoon.
