Foggy and Groggy Start
Posted by Chris Lambert
One thing about eating and eating and eating... it's tough to have a lot of energy! Also, what may be a groggy start for many, is also a foggy start for many as we've have plenty of low level moisture in place to produce that fog, and even freezing fog.
With temps this morning at, or just below freezing, all those little water droplets hanging just above the ground (the fog) can freeze when they come in contact with your car, grass, sidewalk or driveway, creating a bit of black ice. Just watch out for a few slippery spots early.
The few icy spots melt away quickly anytime after 9:00AM as the fog lifts, the sun breaks out, and temps warm into the middle 50s.
The 50s won't last long though as a cold front comes crashing in late tonight and early tomorrow morning. I don't expect much rain from it, other than a passing shower, late overnight and early tomorrow. The big difference will be the increasing wind and decreasing temperatures as highs near the mid 40s Saturday by midday, then fall into the upper 30s by late afternoon.
Sunday remains cool with temperatures struggling to get out of the 30s.
Tuesday/Wednesday... Still lots of questions on potential storm moving in. Right now, my forecast has some rain/mix moving in Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday, but the models have struggled latching on to a pattern set-up and whether or not the storms moves into the Northeast, or stays out to sea? We'll continue to track it and fine tune the forecast as the pattern becomes a lot clearer over the next couple days.
Good luck shopping today! Also a good weekend to make turkey soup!

Warming Up and Unsettled

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east. Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity. It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds. As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening. Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers. These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70. Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.
