Back At It

Back at it with the warmth today---but we'll need to do a little work to get there. Yesterday morning, many towns started the day in the upper 40s while today we are down in the low to mid 30s right now. As we step through the day clouds will take over the sky but despite a mostly cloudy day, the afternoon temps will be mild once again--reaching the mid 50s. Warm again tonight with cloudy skies out ahead of a cool front. That front will toss a few showers our way toward daybreak Wednesday.
Wednesday marks midweek and also a day of transition with a cool front crossing the region. We start the day warm--like Monday warm--low 50s as well as clouds/showers. Those showers will depart by 11am...sadly, that's about the time the 50s will bounce out of town as well. Look for some sun by afternoon.
You will have all sorts of sunshine by Thursday as high pressure returns to the region. December temps will also return with afternoon highs barely reaching 40 by the afternoon. Sunshine prevails again on Friday.
Have a great Tuesday!

Rain and drizzle continues tonight as temperatures drop into the mid 30s to 40 degrees. Any burst of heavier precip drags down colder air, and elevations above 1000 feet in northern Worcester County or southwester NH see wet snow mixing in overnight. No shovels or plows needed for us, but it is a sure sign how cold the atmosphere is for late May. As of this writing, Mt. Mansfield in VT has picked up 7.5" of snow and Whiteface Mtn. in NY has picked up 18"!

So it's the unofficial start of summer this weekend and officially, the average high this time of year hits 70 degrees. So you'd think we have a good shot at BBQ weather right? Not much of a chance today with highs reaching near 50 this morning, only to fall back into the low to mid 40s this afternoon as a cold rain settles in.

Rain, rain, rain...
...but for many today was a day of hurry up and wait. Sure there were showers, but not every minute was washed out. With the events unfolding tonight, that's about to change.
