Monday Doing Its Thing
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
Monday doing its thing..bleh. Clouds..drizzle..rain...mist. I'll say this though---it IS warm. Temps are in the 40s &50s (6am) already and will skyrocket into the upper 50s & mid 60s by afternoon. A storm (the same storm that dumped a foot of snow in MN & WI last night) will swing through here with raindrops & warm temps. In fact, we will hold onto the warmth well into the evening hours so plan on a mild night at Gillette with kickoff temps near 60 and 4th quarter temps still running in the mid 50s. Unfortunately, the chance of showers will be fairly high throughout the entire evening---but just scattered in nature. Whew--that's a busy Monday.
For Tuesday, we will clear out during the morning hours and the warm air also clears out of here as temps start in the upper 40s then fall into the low 40s by afternoon. We are quiet & chilly for Wednesday & Thursday.
Where's the cold & snow?!?!----None this week but there are continued signals from our models that *Greenland Blocking* will commence. Greenland Blocking is a type of jet stream pattern that often produces cold & snowstorms across eastern North America. This new pattern will get under way next weekend and there are signs of a colder & snowier pattern for the northeast over the 2nd half of December.
