What's With The Mask?

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

Halloween is long gone but I'll use the *mask* reference here..now. Today will offer another day of sunshine and temps will jump into the upper 40s by afternoon. Sounds nice doesn't it? Well....here's comes the *mask* reference....We'll also have a southwest wind--helping to drag that warm air in here---that will be on the order of 7-17mph. This time of year, that wind can be a real stinker & I think it's no different today as that breeze will..wait for it....mask that mild feel to the air for much of the day. Decent day though.

Onto the weekend. Saturday is the easy one---sunny skies but chilly with temps only in the upper 30s. Sunday is where it gets tricky. That cold from Saturday will linger at the same time a storm tries to bump up into that cold. #Trouble.

Sunday morning is dry but look for light snow/flurries to arrive early Sunday afternoon and continue into the early evening. At that time the rain/snow line begins its move north--quickly to the MA Pike and then slowly from the MA Pike to the Rt 2 corridor where it will remain for much of Sunday night. For most of us that means a light coating to an inch before the changeover but look for 1-3" north of the MA Pike/outside I-495 and north of Rt 2/outside I-495 look for 3-5" by Sunday night.

As for that Patriots game....some light snow flurries for tail-gating but light rain & drizzle is expected for the game itself...temps in the upper 30s.

Have a great weekend!

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.

Strong Finish

An overall cooler day, but also a great end to the workweek as highs neared 70, low humidity continued and plenty of sunshine dominated the skies.  Now all we need is this to continue through the weekend right?

Still Good

How about yesterday?  The 82 in Boston matched the warmest temp we've had since September 13th.  Of course, with a wind gusting past 30mph and relative humidity near 18%, it certainly didn't feel oppressive.

Top 10?

Posted by Chris Lambert

Lower 80s, low humidity and sunshine... would you call it a top 10 kind of day?  Only complaint, other than it not being the weekend, is maybe the wind was a bit much?  It certainly was gusty, at times blowing 30-35mph.  No sea breeze will move inland with a strong west wind like that.
