Raindrops--Not 1 Of My Favorite Things
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
Sorry snow lovers, I let y'all down. I barked last week about a pattern change that would lead to cold & storminess. 1 out of 2. Yet another storm this morning but once again we're talking just raindrops--no snowflakes. The timing is the worst part of the storm---right out the front door for the morning commute-- but as we step through the morning that rain will taper to cloudy skies. Temps will average out a little milder than yesterday with many towns between 45 & 50 during the afternoon.
Need some sunshine? Me too and we get it tomorrow and again on Thursday. That sunshine will be somewhat limited tomorrow but in abundance on Thursday. Midweek temps will be near normal--mid 40s. Couple of nice days.
Yet another storm is with us on Friday and like these 2 storms, the Friday storm has raindrops--a bunch of them--mainly during the morning hours. Behind this storm is a decent chunk of cold air that will rush into New England by evening and hang with us for much of the upcoming weekend. We may have some leftover snow flurries & snow showers from this storm on Saturday---just enough to put you in a holiday mood.

What A Day

The last day of spring will be fantastic! What a way to close the books on the vernal season. As our weather producer, Jim Colman says...."what a season it was..rain, snow, wind, sun and more rain" Truth Jim, truth. Only sun today with afternoon temps in the upper 70s--a great day for all outdoor activities.

Summer officially starts Friday at 1:04 A.M., and Mother Nature's sending in summer weather for us just in time. Mid to late June averages highs near 80 degrees, and we'll be there temperature-wise over the next few days. Mostly dry too!

That's A Wrap--I Think

I hope I'm not jinxing us with this statement.."The recent wet pattern is over....onto sunshine & a more summer- like pattern.." The last time someone from 7 weather called a pattern change too soon we got a blizzard and 3 subsequent nor'easters (looking at you Pete!!--LOL). We don't have to worry about any blizzards or nor'easters but one never knows in the new world order.

If you were caught in those 'cloudbursts' today, you had more than you could handle in the rain department. Torrents fell in a short amount of time - what we deem 'flash flooding' in the weather biz. Since it happens suddenly, the National Weather Service has adopted the acronym TADD:
