This Or That??
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
Today won't be nearly as bright as yesterday but there won't be any wind today---I think I'll take the clouds over the wind any winter day. Despite the clouds, our high temps will still be respectable for this time of year--reaching 40 by afternoon. These clouds are tied to a warm front that will try to improve upon that 40 over the weekend. This warm front is also creating a few rain showers (currently in NY/PA) and yes, they will end up in our part of the world after 4pm. Showers continue through the evening. Heads up---A few pockets of freezing rain are likely in the Worcester Hills. This map shows where some slick travel is possible this evening:

Nothing heavy, or damaging but there will likely be a few slick spots on untreated surfaces in those purple shaded areas.
Moving onto the weekend, The showers are gone but the clouds will linger for much of the day on Saturday. That will keep temps close to today's numbers---upper 30s/low 40s for afternoon highs. Also, like today, no wind---great outside day for any winter sports activities!
Sunday will be a fun day. Patriots---Golden Globes--and a touch of spring in the air. We will start the day with clouds but some sun works its way through the clouds by afternoon and that sunshine goes to work giving temps a nice bounce by late morning & afternoon. Many towns reach the upper 50s for the afternoon. That includes the Patriots game. Here's the forecast (weather, not score):

Nice! Go Pats!
Anyone see winter?----don't you worry, he's coming back next week and he's bringing some friends.....arctic air & bitter wind. That's next week though...enjoy the day & the weekend!

Warming Up and Unsettled

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east. Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity. It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds. As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening. Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers. These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70. Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.
