Snow is Trending

Posted by Jeremy Reiner

Just another batch of some nuisance snow out there for you this morning as another tiny storm scooted through here overnight. Most towns picked up a coating-1" but sunshine will go to work this morning (after a 2 hour delay--like a school!!) melting that coating as most towns reach the upper 30s by afternoon. Mainly clear skies for tonight and into tomorrow morning. As we step through tomorrow clouds begin to arrive and those clouds are the leading edge of another storm....a bigger storm for Friday-Saturday.

Here's what we know about this Friday-Saturday storm:

*A drawn out storm---beginning as light snow by 8am Friday then becoming steadier & heavier by Friday afternoon and into Friday night. Snow won't taper off until 9-11am Saturday!

*A plowable snow is likely Friday-Saturday (Our *Special* map in the maps section details how much).

*Poor Travel is expected (ground and air) is expected across southern New England Friday afternoon through early Saturday morning.

*Minor-Moderate Coastal Flooding is likely Friday PM / Saturday AM

Here's What We're Still Working on with this storm:

*Storm Track---It's actually two storms that will join forces to become one storm----if they join forces too late (well southeast of New England) then it will be a storm with much less snowfall.

*Until we can pinpoint the storm track then the amount of snow is not locked in and that dreaded rain/snow line is also not known.

New information will be later this morning--this will further our confidence in this forecast--stay tuned!

Warming Up and Unsettled

Posted by Chris Lambert

Well, it certainly was a great weekend weather-wise until this afternoon when the temps dropped and light showers moved in from west to east.  Despite the cool down, the theme for this upcoming week is warmer with higher humidity.  It'll also be unsettled at times.

Pulling The Fade

Our fun in the sun ends this afternoon as morning sunshine fades behind thickening clouds.  As those clouds increase, a few showers break out this afternoon from west to east, with the highest chance for rain late afternoon and this evening.  Most of the showers are light, especially the early afternoon ones, but a heavier shower or two is possible near day's end and early this evening.  Highs reach the mid to upper 60s around noon, then fall back to near 60 mid to late afternoon thanks to scattered showers.  These showers are brought to us by a warm front.

Back and Forth

Quite a few clouds in the sky at times this afternoon, but the atmosphere lacked ample moisture to produce showers, so we made out just fine with temps near 70.  Even the coast made it well into the 60s before the onshore wind knocked temps back.

Pretty Good Weekend Overall

Posted by Chris Lambert

Sure, it's a cool start with many of the suburbs down into the upper 30s and lower 40s, but we'll warm up quickly through the day as that sun helps us out.
