Super day! Highs made it into the low and mid 50s with tons of early sun. Clouds eventually got the best of us, but most of the showers stayed west of Worcester.
We'll get back to the spring like warmth in a little bit, but first we have a little detour tonight and tomorrow. Yes, there might be some flakes that fly as the cold air settles in overnight. And yes, there might even be a few places (outside of Boston) that wake up to a coating on the lawn.
Gasp! Is this a return to winter??
Easy now. Just passing through. If you wake by 7-8 o'clock, it'll be gone. How's that for short-lived?
Still, tomorrow won't be as warm as today, and Friday's mostly cloudy forecast will also keep the temperatures in check - with another chance at some light sprinkles in the afternoon.
Making plans for Easter weekend? I got my cousin's family shindig on Saturday, then the Easter Bunny pays a visit Sunday morning. Also on the plate: wet weather late on Sunday. Yeah, it's not the driest forecast, but at least the morning will be somewhat bright and dry.
Overall, our temperatures will settle back below normal after Monday. (Speaking of which, I talked myself into the 60s based on similar early April setups in the past.) This isn't a time to get down though. The big atmospheric block that brought us all the snow and cold is dissolving over the high latitudes, so any cold snaps will be short-lived.
Translated: stand by for a warm up in the long range.
