It's been a few days now. Temps have remained above freezing, the sun still feels warm, the frost is coming out of the ground and the snow is vanishing from the suburbs.
Maybe this spring thing is legit.
Sure is. After a more congested sky and a few showers, today certainly didn't feel all that spectacular. We still made 50 in a few spots, but once the sun went in, the chill set in. That's to be expected this time of year with a cold airmass passing overhead.
We'll fight back in the days to come with late March sun. But with more sun on the scene, the clouds will build into a few WIDELY scattered showers by afternoon. Nothing big, but just enough to dampen the pavement in a few spots.
Looking into the weekend, the sun will dominate on Saturday, but get lost in the clouds by afternoon on Easter. I'm still holding the rain off until LATE afternoon/evening, but a chilly wind will blow starting by late morning. All in all, not the worst of Easters, but still not shorts and t-shirts.
That may be in the LONG range, however. The weather maps hinted at it earlier today, but now have backed down on the major warmup for NEXT weekend. One thing's for sure: we're delaying the inevitable. The 70s in April are as predictable as Meninoisms. ("KJ and Hondo"..."Veritek splitting the uprights"..) Let the record show that he was so dedicated to the city and his job, that there was little time for anything else.
Well done mayor. We're gonna miss you.
