Taking A Step Back
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
We'll be taking a couple of steps back today. We touched upon it yesterday that we often get these stretches of warm weather only to have a setback. You'll feel that "setback" the entire day with temps staying in the 30s and wind chill temps hovering around 30 during the afternoon. That sun will shine for much of the day but during the afternoon hours we'll even lose that at times. Clear & cold again tonight with lows back into the 20s. Wednesday will offer more sunshine but also continued cold with afternoon high temps below normal once again--only reaching the low 40s. Less wind should at least make it tolerable to be outside.
Thursday is when we start taking steps forward again as temperatures make a great recovery from a chilly start (20s) by reaching the low 50s by afternoon (in fact, after tomorrow, I think we'll be done with those 30 degree afternoons until late next fall). Friday will be our only storm threat over the next seven days. A storm will move northeast from coastal North Carolina but the same wind that is delivering today's chilly air from Canada should also carry that storm far enough offshore to spare us any heavy rain/wind. Clouds & a few showers are possible late Friday afternoon-evening (especially across southeast MA). After this storm threat, sunshine will dominate for much of the upcoming weekend.
Heads up--if you are doing yard work that involves burning the threat for brush fires will be very high the next several days.
