At Least We Need It

A little taste of late May yesterday felt nice with sunshine and temps running into the 70s after starting the morning off with rain. We started this morning off with rain as well, but this time, no blue skies and 70+ weather this afternoon.
More clouds than sun prevail through the day, occasionally a sprinkle, but many dry hours as well. Highs this afternoon range from the mid 50s at the coast, to lower 60s through Metrowest to mid 60s across southern Worcester County and Bristol County.
Just like the past couple of nights, I expect another batch of showers to work in. This time, it's earlier in the night, and not later. That means if you're heading to the Sox game, I'd have rain gear on standby with heavier showers possible by the middle to later innings.
Temps fall into the 40s tonight, and hold in the 40s tomorrow. The cool weather is thanks to an east wind that'll hold those afternoon numbers down in the 45-49 degree range. At times we'll catch a sprinkle or a patch of drizzle, but the main rain event holds off until Friday.
It's not the weather you want to hear about for Friday, but we could use the rain across the area. Unfortunately, that rain comes with a chilly air mass. Temps of Friday start in the mid to upper 30s in the morning, with rain and even sleet mixed in across northern Mass and southern NH. Ski County gets sleet and snow with this one. Rain picks up for us by midday and continues into the evening. Temps run in the 40s during the afternoon, and could near 50 in the early evening if winds turn more south. Either way, we'll pick up about an inch of beneficial rain.
Good news for the weekend! Sun returns and so do temps in the 50s to near 60 on Saturday and mid 50s Sunday.
