In terms of late April weather, this in about as ugly as it gets. As of this writing, the highest temp so far in Boston today is 43 degrees. That's the average low for this time of year! We'll deal with the cool weather throughout the overnight hours tonight as well as the rain and drizzle. I don't expect a lot of rain inland, but a steady mist at times will keep it damp. Close to the coast, 1/4" or so could fall, but the highest chance for soaking rains come through the Cape and Islands. There, 1-2" is possible.
Initially, I was planning on a quick turnaround tomorrow, but the timing has slowed a bit. No question, it'll be a nicer day and a warmer day, but high temperatures vary significantly depending on location. Morning clouds are slow to break, but will by the afternoon. Winds are still north in eastern Mass through most of the day, and that holds the temps down in the mid 50s at the coast. Outside Route 128, we'll be in the 60-65 range in the late afternoon, and outside 495, 65-70 in not out of the question by 4-5PM.
Another front slides through tomorrow night and Thursday morning with more scattered showers. After that.... Easy Street folks! 60s and 70s are in store the rest of the 7-day forecast with localized sea breezes keeping it a bit cooler at the coastline.
