Somebody Left The Gate Open

A catchy tune from a few months ago that is still in my head (an earworm of sorts) that will serve as the title of todays blog. That open gate will allow for some cooler air to slide into our part of the world late today & more so tomorrow. Before that happens though you can plan on another warm day with inland temps easily reaching the low 70s--even at the coast, the numbers will be pleasant, reaching the low to mid 60s. Heads up though along the coast, if you have outdoor plans after 4pm there will be a dramatic drop to the temps as the cool air arrives sending those temps from about 60 to 50 in just a couple of hours.
Tomorrow is another sunshiney day but those temps will be cooler, reaching the low 60s inland & mid 50s along the coast. Those are cooler than today but that's actually where we should see afternoon highs for this time of year. As we roll into the weekend, high pressure is still with us---such an amazing stretch of sunshine (remember this in July) and our temps will start to climb above normal yet again. Both days the numbers will finish near 70---low 60s along the coast. Even warmer weather is expected next week, perhaps our first 80 degree reading of the season by Tuesday.
