Feast Or Famine
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
Here were some rain totals from yesterday: Bedford with .04" and Fitchburg .65". Feast or famine...welcome to late spring. Truly the definition of the term *scattered showers*. The storm that created these showers is still with us today so the weather message is similar to yesterdays.
That means a little of everything--at any time. Clouds, fog and some sunshine at times mixed in with those showers & even some thunderstorms this afternoon. Outdoor plans can happen today as there will be large gaps between the showers but have the rain gear on stand-by---especially after 10am. Temps are off to a warm (and humid) start and by afternoon those numbers will reach the upper 60s/low 70s.
Friday is an in-between day (The Cure) as the chance for scattered showers will be minimal to non existent with high pressure moving through the region. This high pressure won't act like its predecessor and linger for 12 days though, enjoy that sunshine. Warm & humid with temps in the upper 70s....possibly our first beach day of the season.
Onto the weekend, Saturday offers clouds and a renewed chance of showers & t-storms. Right now, it appears the highest chance of rain/lightning will be after 2pm and last right through the night. Warm & humid once again. Mothers Day starts with clouds & leftover showers but skies will clear during the afternoon. Late Sunday afternoon will be quite nice across southern New England.
