One more hurdle until the weekend--Thursday?.....Well, I guess, but I'm thinking weather. It's another storm racing eastward into New England right now. It's actually the same storm that spawned a derecho (large complex of thunderstorms producing straight-line wind damage) last evening across the Midwest. We don't have to worry about any severe weather but we are tracking more rain heading this way.
Until the first raindrops arrive around 1-4pm it will be dry with sun fading behind clouds quickly this morning. Anything planned for the outdoors this morning is fine but anything after 3-4pm and the likelihood of rain is high. that rain will pick up in intensity this evening and last through the overnight hours. Yesterday I thought we would get whacked with 2-4" of rain but now I'm thinking 1-2" of rain (even lighter amounts along the MA/NH border). As for wind overnight, a non issue along the coast from Plymouth north but on the Cape/Islands/Buzzards Bay look for a strong northeast wind between 15-35mph.
Improving is the theme on Friday as we will start with rain & some coastal wind but both taper off by noon tomorrow. there might even be enough dry air/sunshine at times late in the day tomorrow. The good news is that a huge chunk of dry air will arrive just in time for the upcoming weekend. Sunshine is expected both days with afternoon highs near 80 each day.
