Sunshine, low humidity and temperatures near 80. That's a tough forecast to beat right? Fortunately for us, this near perfect weather is sliding in on a weekend as opposed to the deluges we've had during the week. Good beach weather today too with highs in the mid to upper 70s at the coast and lots of sun. Just be careful of rip currents, there's still a risk for those as seas are still a bit turned up.
Despite the flood of sunshine today, flood warnings are still up for the Assabet River and the Charles River. Water levels are just above flood stage for those two rivers, but improvements for the Assabet River are seen by tomorrow morning as levels fall back below flood stage. For the Charles River, water levels continue to rise until tomorrow morning, before receding. The expected water level on the Charles is 5.7 feet tomorrow morning. Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
I wish I could say the Father's Day would be a repeat forecast, but we do have a few mid to late afternoon showers to track. They'll be scattered about Sunday afternoon, mainly after 3PM, so I don't expect a lot of rain, but an occasional nuisance shower may stroll on through. Temps Sunday are still mild, in the mid to upper 70s.
Monday is muggy with a few pop up storms in the afternoon and temps in the 80s.
Next week looks quiet overall with highs in the mid 70s to lower 80s through the week. One thing we'll track though is an area of low pressure just to our south Tuesday night and Wednesday. It looks to be out to sea, but the trend the last couple weeks has been a northerly trend with storms. Just something to keep an eye on for now.
Enjoy the weekend and Happy Father's Day!
