What A Day
Posted by Jeremy Reiner
The last day of spring will be fantastic! What a way to close the books on the vernal season. As our weather producer, Jim Colman says...."what a season it was..rain, snow, wind, sun and more rain" Truth Jim, truth. Only sun today with afternoon temps in the upper 70s--a great day for all outdoor activities.
As we look toward summer (officially arriving at 1:09am Friday) it will behave very similar to today's weather. Sunshine and afternoon temps near 80. In fact, the first weekend of summer offers continued sunshine and a warming trend with afternoon temps into the low & mid 80s. Humidity will also be on the rise. The added heat & humidity may lead to some widely scattered late day t-storms across central/western & northern New England but we're talking less than a 20% chance (so small that the thunderstorm symbol will not be on our 7-day graphic).
I think we will hold onto the warm & increasingly humid weather into next week. This will, in time, bring an increasing threat to summertime thunderstorms---you know, the ones that don't arrive until 4-5pm (and are scattered--not widespread). Ready for summer.
