Sun and Storms

Notice the 7-day forecast? Yes, I have a thunderstorm icon in each day, but I also have a sun icon each day as well. What it all boils down to is a somewhat unsettled pattern that features hours of hazy sunshine, humid conditions and occasional thunderstorms that produce locally heavy rain. The highest threat for rain is in the afternoon, after the hazy sun destabilizes the atmosphere thanks to the daytime heating.
Breaking it down day to day, I can see an earlier start to storms today as energy in the mid-upper levels of the atmosphere helps spark the activity. Some of these storms will be locally strong to severe, with hail, and gusty winds a possibility. Frequent lightning and heavy rain will be a more widespread threat overall. Since it's an earlier start to the storms, high temps fall short of 90, breaking our heat wave in the city of Boston. Still plenty of warmth though with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
Winds turn onshore tonight and tomorrow, leading to cooler temps, but still the threat of showers and storms is there thanks to a front draped across the area. Highs tomorrow struggle to get out of the 70s.
Friday, more storms as the warm front come back on through, and these storms are likely widespread.
I do see somewhat lower rains chances over the weekend and early next week, but enough instability hangs around, that scattered storms develop in the afternoon each and every day. Highs reach the 80s and lots of humidity hang around. You'll get some dry times in there too this weekend and next week, so vaca days aren't completely washed-out in terms of all day rain events, although at times, any thunderstorm can produce an hour or two of torrential rains.
