Last evening was a nice little treat if you lived along the coast (and even into metrowest) as a cool front dropped in from Maine. That front sent temps from the low 80s to the mid 60s within just an hour or two. That front is only making a cameo though as the heat & humidity will surge back into metro Boston today. In fact, plan on many towns to reach the upper 80s by afternoon. Sun & clouds will vie for your attention for much of the day but little to no rain is expected from Boston & points south---just an isolated thundershower possible north & west of town.
For the 4th of July, look for a good old fashioned hazy, hot & humid kind of day with afternoon temps in the low 90s (mid 80s on the sand). An isolated thundershower is possible across western & northern New England late in the day but it's essentially a dry day. No issues expected for fireworks displays tomorrow evening.
This will be the start of a heat wave as several days of low 90s are anticipated across southern New England. Perfect timing for you vacationers (and those in the vacation business)!
