Summer Being Summer

Summer being summer. If this is your vacation week---you sure know how to pick them (if not, well.....perhaps next year) as summertime weather will be the rule for much of the week.
High pressure will be anchored along the east coast for the week and that will provide the region with abundant sunshine, temps in the 90s and humidity levels near-tropical. Just about ideal for the beaches, lakes, pools and any other location that provides relief from heat. Away from the beaches, that heat will combine with the humidity to create heat index values near 100--a bit extreme--so use caution if outside for any length of time. Use sunscreen too.
As for the chance of thunderstorms, it will actually be too hot in the upper levels of the atmosphere to produce widespread showers & hibernators but an isolated thunderstorm my occur as the sea breeze pushes inland during the afternoon. The chance of these seabreeze thunderstorms is quite low so there won't be a thunderstorm symbol on my 7-day forecast until Friday. At that time, a cool front will begin pushing into New England by afternoon. That front will lead to scattered afternoon showers/t-storms.
Enjoy the week, enjoy the heat!
