3 heat waves in one summer---impressive, most impressive. Our latest will be the longest as today will make it four straight with at least 2 more to follow. the last heat wave was a 5 day variety---impressive within its own right as that hasn't been done since 2010. In fact, if saturday ends up being a 90 degree day for Boston metro it will mark 7 straight days----the longest heat wave since August 11-18 2002!
That's just temperature but the other factor out there is the humidity. That will make it feel like 100 across most of southern New England. That's dangerous heat when the body isn;t cooled (either by the ocean, pool, lake, slip-n-slide or even drinking water). Be safe out there. In terms of showers or thunderstorms, litlte if any activity is expected. there could could be a brief downpour that tags 1 or 2 towns but that would be it.
Sick of the heat? We own this pattern for the remainder of the week and into the start of the weekend but on Saturday a cool front will charge out of Canada with a big bag of dry, cool air. This bag of happiness won't make it into town on Saturday but the moving process will lead to some powerful showers/t-storms Saturday afternoon & evening. behind these storms look for delgithful weather on Sunday and lasting into early next week.
156 days until winter.
