Cooler, But Wetter Too

What a nice break from the heat and humidity huh? Today's temps start off in the upper 50s and lower 60s for most, and dew point levels are now down into the 40s and 50s! On the flip side, it is a rather cloudy start, and we'll track more rain across the area throughout the day, tonight and on Friday.
The showers that form later today are along a front that just brought us in the cooler weather. That front has not made it too far offshore, and it's close enough to us that once more rain rides along it, we'll get some of it. Winds stay out of the northeast though, and that means it'll remain cool with highs only near 70. Showers this afternoon become most widespread across SE Mass.
Heading to Fenway tonight? Be prepared for some raindrops and temps only in the mid 60s. It'll feel more like a May game at Fenway and not late July.
We're going to have to track a wave of low pressure along the stationary front just to our east tonight, as it'll likely bring a bout of heavy rain and gusty winds across the Cape and Islands late overnight, and through Friday morning. Winds could gust past 40mph across the Cape with locally 1-3" of rain Friday morning. Winds are active early tomorrow morning along the South Shore and North Shore too, and rain will be steady at times, although it appears not as heavy as the Cape rains. Inland rain tomorrow morning is more of the shower variety and not consistently heavy rain.
Fortunately, that area of low pressure is quick to move out of here, and that means improvements for the afternoon as rain tapers off, and even a few breaks of sun emerge from Boston, west.
Those improvements continue for the weekend, and we're back to beach weather by Saturday with sunshine, higher humidity and temps back in the mid 80s.
