As Bad As It Gets
Posted by Chris Lambert
You know our standards are high and we're used to the nice weather, when a partly sunny to cloudy, but dry day, with high temps 75-80, is considered as bad as it gets. Sure, there have been a few sprinkles and light showers through the Islands, and there will be a spotty sprinkle or two in SE Mass through about 9:00PM, but in the grand scheme of things, outdoor parties, cookouts, tee times and ball games went off uninterrupted.
In terms of afternoon clouds blocking out the sun for you pool loungers and beach-goers, I do have brighter and better weather for that in the forecast.
In fact, Monday, we're back to the mid 80s with a mix of sun and clouds. Tuesday, the upper 80s with mainly sunny skies, and Wednesday-Thursday, near 90. Humidity comes up a bit the next few days, but the only day I see the dew points in the 65-70 range, is Thursday. So this warm stretch of weather won't be as oppressive as the July heat.
I don't see much rain in the forecast other than a small risk of a thunderstorm near day's end Thursday or Thursday night, thanks to a cool front. Behind that front, more dry air and nice weather for next weekend.
It certainly can be much worse, 22 years ago tomorrow, Hurricane Bob made landfall. http://www.erh.noaa.gov/box/hurricane/hurricaneBob.shtml
Enjoy the week!
