Chilly Night, Beauty of A Sunday
Posted by Chris Lambert
What a day! Low humidity and a lot of sunshine provided a great day for outdoor activities across all of New England. If you were at the beach, I will say, it was cool, but hopefully you still had fun in the sand. For the kids, it sometimes seems like the air temps are irrelevant as I'm sure many of them were running in and out of the water all day while you and I would shiver.
Anyhow, with the low humidity and clear skies tonight, temps tumble and tumble fast. After sunset, it's off to the races to the downside as outside the city of Boston, temps reach the low 50s by midnight and low to mid 40s by sunrise on Sunday. One characteristic of a dry air mass is that it cools down quickly at night and warms up quickly during the day, and we'll see that tomorrow. Despite starting in the mid 40s in the burbs, we'll reach the lower 80s by mid afternoon there. Even the city of Boston nears 80 before a sea breeze knocks temps back into the 70s. I'd expect a light sea breeze and mid 70s if you're heading to the beach tomorrow.
While the dry weather has been great, we could use some water on the lawns at this point. We should get a few cracks at that starting Monday with scattered showers around. More scattered showers for Tuesday and also the risk for a few thunderstorms by Wednesday afternoon. No days look like a washout at this point.
Dry weather again moves in to end the week and start next weekend.
Enjoy your Sunday!
