Late Summer Fare
Posted by Pete Bouchard
Plenty of unhappy customers with the rain last night. As you can see, it was the haves and have-nots:
Today's weather system was potent, but very compact. It skirted around most of Metrowest, Greater Boston and the Merrimack Valley. And that's the rub. With rainfall deficits of over 1", folks are hurting for rain.
We may be able to accomodate in the coming days. There are opportunities, but no guarantees for a drink of water. One caveat in the forecast is the sea breeze. It could act as a trigger point for storms as it moves from the beaches in the morning to Metrowest by afternoon. But once it leaves the coast, the storm threat is diminished. This is my thinking for the coming two days:
Now about that weekend forecast. It isn't looking as good as it was yesterday, but it's still not half bad. A few pop-up storms could fire each afternoon - Saturday through Monday - but these aren't washouts, and it'll be enough to take one last swim.
Not good enough?? You want dazzling? You want charming? Get an Alex and Ani. You want something you can work with? Then I have a holiday weekend forecast for you.
