Step Forward....Then Backward

The fall preview has packed its bags and is being escorted out of New England. Those clouds, sprinkles and brief showers are showing the crisp, cool air the door (whether we like it or not). No worries Fall lovers, that crisp dry air will return in a few days.
Today, tomorrow and Thursday will be turn back the clock weather as we have humidity, heat and even the risk of some severe t-storms Thursday evening. Today it's just easing back into the summer theme with a few isolated showers this morning and slowly building humidity through the day. I think we will see intervals of sunshine--more so this afternoon.
Tomorrow it's all about the heat with many towns reaching the lower 90s by afternoon. It will also be hazy & humid. Despite the heat & humidity, I think the radar will be sleepy with little to no thunderstorm activity. That will change late in the day Thursday as a cool front crawls into New England. Much of the daylight hours on Thursday will be storm-free but after 5pm and for much of the evening there will be scattered storms. Some of those storms will be severe and the risk of storms will be elevated for the Patriots-Jets game.
Normally a front of this strength would blast through here & be long gone by Friday morning but this one has to wait for some meteorological traffic.....T.S. Gabrielle. She is no threat to New England (passing well east of us) but she will prevent that front from moving fast...so.....Friday is a change from yesterday with mostly cloudy skies & scattered showers for much of the day. The cool idea from yesterday does remain in place.
As of now, the weekend looks partly sunny & pleasant.
