Slowly Stepping Back

Two straight days of 70 or better? What is up with October?!
So far this month, we're running over 4 degrees above normal! And with rainfall over 1 1/2 inches below normal, things are getting kinda dry out there. With a lot of leaves on the ground, fire danger is climbing across New England.
So where's the rain? Not here, not anytime soon. Sure, we may get a few drops on Saturday night as a weak weather system zips by, but it will hardly be enough to make a puddle. One thing that's notable is that eacy one of these weather systems will chip away at our upper level high pressure system. This is important, because eventually the dam will give way...
...and the cold will fill the void.
Enjoy your weekend. The mild days are numbered.
