Eventually.... Changes Ahead
Posted by Chris Lambert
After a warm and dry October, finally, we start to see some changes in the forecast as cooler air makes it's way into the eastern half of the United States. However, that change will take a while to get in here, so until then, enjoy as the relatively mild mid October weather continues for now.
We'll have another nice one today as temperatures reach the middle to upper 60s. Sunshine fades this afternoon, but it remains dry through the day. Tonight, we'll track a few scattered showers in here (best chance in the 10:00PM-3:00AM timeframe), but even these showers look to be on the lighter side. Heading out to Fenway? Temps hover in the mid to upper 50s this evening, and I can't rule out a passing shower or two. Prolonged rain delays or a rain-out is unlikely though. Have fun and go Sox!
Those spotty showers are long gone by Sunday morning, and it's back to the sunshine as drier air builds back in on a west to northwest wind. That wind will be quite active too, gusting near 30mph at times. Highs are just slightly cooler.... low to mid 60s.
So where are the changes? We'll start to transition into a cooler pattern on Wednesday as cold air builds in the eastern 2/3rds of the country. Highs may struggle to hit 50 by the end of next week, and it looks like the colder set-up has some staying power through the end of the month as the 50s become more common than the 60s and 70s we've enjoyed.
Have fun this weekend!
