Running The Cold Out of Town
Posted by Pete Bouchard
After a few showers and an I-can-see-my-breath morning, the temperatures got a boost with peeks of afternoon sun. We managed to claw our way up to the low 50s in many spots, and with the Sox game just moments away...the weather is on our side.
That mini warmup this afternoon is part of a bigger collective of warmth that is about to overtake the Northeast. South winds will stiffen through Halloween and push the numbers into the 60s. MOST of the showers will hold off until late night, but there still may be a few sprinkles around for the evening trick-or-treaters.
If 60s got your attention, then the 70s on Friday should knock your socks off. There is a caveat however, the winds will gust to 40-50 mph as a strong storm moves north of New York State. Rain should move out in the early part of the day, with a dropoff in the wind coming by afternoon. All in all, not a horrible day, but with such fierce morning wind, there may be some scattered power outages.
Cooler weekend with a few showers scooting through Southeast Mass. early on Saturday. Next week we may do it again: chilly to mild with another batch of rain. Good...we need the water badly!!
